Banking Technology Connections: July 3, 2012

July 3, 2012

Welcome to Banking Technology Connections. The goal of the newsletter is to communicate recent trends and issues facing Banking Technology Professionals.

Last week in Wolf’s client webinar series we discussed “The Role of the Chief Information Security Officer” (Click below if you would like to see the recorded version.) What does this role look like in your organization? Is it a strategic role or merely a compliance item checklist to make the regulators happy? Unfortunately, we find it to be the latter in a number of institutions, and it is those institutions that spend more time putting out fires instead of staying on top of emerging threats. Let’s educate your Board that the CISO isn’t there to just enforce passwords and do a PowerPoint security presentation once a year. The CISO is there to make sure the institution’s data is safe, that transactions maintain a level of integrity, and that systems are running when needed!

We hope you and the family have a happy and safe July 4th holiday!
