Banking Technology Connections: September 18, 2012
September 18, 2012
This week's list of articles includes an interesting interview with the FDIC that discusses how examiners will be more receptive to a bank's 'Good Faith Effort' during examinations (FDIC Will Make Allowances for Banks That Show Good Faith Effort to Meet FFIEC Guidelines). Along with recognizing the challenges between large banks and community banks, the article highlights how changes in technology make it virtually impossible for the Agency to push guidance on any specific technology trend. Instead, the Agency is focusing on your efforts to ensure that the technology fits the business objectives of the Bank, as well as making sure you identify and mitigate any risks that the technology presents. When you make a new technology initiative, will your documentation stand up to the test?
