Client Alert: 2016 Secure Email Upgrades

We take your information security seriously at Wolf & Company and many of you have been using our secure email functionality when we are communicating with you. As with any security measure, upgrades are required to keep on top of best practices. We are making an upgrade to the secure email technology that will provide further protection and give you better functionality.

What additional functionality will I have with this upgrade?
Rather than having to dig through old emails to find a secure email with a link to log-in, you will now be able to access a log-in page. If you would like to create a favorite for this page, the link is

Once logged-in, you will have inbox functionality as well as visibility into the secure items you have sent and deleted. While this information will not integrate with the email system your organization uses, you will have the ability to see a historical record of your communications kept secure within the system over the last 30 days.

How will my experience change?
The first time after December 16, 2016, that you are sent a secure email you will receive a separate email to create a new password. In line with current information security best practices, the upgrade requires stricter password parameters so you will probably have to add more complexity to the password you are using. If your password does not meet the requirements, the system will provide guidance as to what is needed.

How often will I need to update my password?
You will be required to change your password every 90 days. If you do not access emails from the secure system often, this may mean that you will have to update your password more often.

How long will my information be available in the upgraded system?
The system will hold the email for 30 days. This should be more than enough time for you to download the information that you need to a secure location.

When will the change occur?
The upgrade will go into effect on Friday, December 16, 2016.

What about the information I have been sent in the last 60 days?
Don’t worry if you have information from a previous secure email, you will be able to access it until January 15, 2017. Please make sure you download any information you need from those emails to a secure location.

Will this change affect SecurePortal?
No, there will be no changes to SecurePortal. This will continue to be the technology you can use to send us multiple or large files.
