Massachusetts Bankers Association: ERM Forum

Date:
June 21, 2017 @ 8:00am
EST

Location: Middlesex Savings Bank Training Center, Westborough, MA

Speaking:
Michael D. Cohn, CPA, CISA, CGEIT will be speaking on the topic of Measuring KRIs to Support Strategic Objectives.

Many risk functions approach the process of identifying and measuring KRIs to meet the minimum expectations of auditors and regulators. If the exercise also supported a complete and comprehensive view of your bank’s risk, and if ambiguity and uncertainty over the spectrum of risk could be removed, would you as a risk manager support greater innovation and risk taking?

Some believe that the rate of change today is faster than it has ever been, and may be the slowest it will ever be for the remainder of our life. Innovation is the only source of sustainable competitive advantage. The risk management function has an opportunity to use the risk, threat, and control framework of the institution to promote new products and services.  The session will review the linkages of KRIs, risk appetite and other ERM tools and techniques to build a bridge to strategic planning and the process of innovation.
