Meet Our New Member of the Firm

Hillary Burr, CPA, MST, CAP - Tax
Hillary serves in Wolf’s Tax Department and provides personalized tax planning and compliance services to private clients and executives. She joined Wolf in 2000 and has nearly 20 years of expertise in the areas of private client and family group tax planning and compliance. Hillary also provides services in specialty areas such as individual income and gift tax planning, philanthropic planning, intra-family gifting, and stock option activity. 

Hillary approaches her work with a team mentality, working in tandem with other trusted advisors such as attorneys, investment advisors, family offices and family members to provide integrated support and personalized service to her clients. She has received the “Women to Watch – Emerging leader” award from the MSCPA as well as being honored as one of the “Women of FIRE (Finance Insurance and Real Estate)” given by Banker & Tradesman. An accomplished networker, Hillary is chair of Wolf’s Philanthropy Committee, Director of Wolf’s Charitable Foundation, Member of the Professional Advisory Network to The Boston Foundation, and an active member of the Boston Estate Planning Council. Hillary resides in Newburyport, MA and when she’s not working, you can find her volunteering at the Women’s Lunch Place with friends and family or on the water with Fred and their two dogs.

Meet Our New Principals

Cecilia Frerotte, CPA - Audit
Cecilia serves in Wolf’s Audit department and has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. Her experience includes providing internal control and accounting guidance to a variety of organizations including start-ups, software developers, manufacturers and distributors, service businesses, and not-for-profits.

Cecilia plays an active role in Wolf’s Technology Services Team and its Manufacturing, Distribution & Retail Services Team, which assists her in providing industry focused guidance to her clients. She resides in Brookline, MA with her family where she also serves as a Trustee at the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation. She delights in listening to NPR podcasts and spending time exploring the city and taking road trips with her family. 

Derek Graves, CPA - Audit
Derek serves in Wolf’s Audit department and has nearly 20 years of experience providing audit, review and business advisory services to privately-held and publicly traded businesses in various industries including investment advisors, healthcare, manufacturers, distributors and retailers, non-profits, software developers, and professional service firms. In addition, Derek serves pooled investment funds, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, and fund of funds. Derek also helps lead the Firm in delivering our employee benefit plan audit services.

Derek has expertise in advising clients in complex accounting areas such as investment valuation, carried interest, revenue recognition, equity instruments and purchase accounting.  As a member of Wolf’s Accounting Standards Task Force, Derek is responsible with researching new accounting standards and communicating them to the Wolf team and clients. 

Derek is a graduate of Nichols College, and resides in Dedham, MA with his wife Vicki. When he’s not on the audit trail, Derek enjoys playing soccer and golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife outside working on the vegetable garden.

Jim McGough, CPA, CGMA - Audit
Jim serves in Wolf’s Audit department and has over 20 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and managerial consulting related to the financial services industry. Jim focuses on financial statement audits for public and non-public banks, investment management companies, and trust operations. He works extensively with SEC reporting issues for our publicly held banking clients. Jim also performs internal audit services and SOC1 examinations. A former examiner for the National Credit Union Administration, Jim has extensive experience in the credit union industry. 

Jim is a member of the Firm’s Accounting and Auditing Committee which oversees the Firm’s compliance with professional standards. He is a graduate of Fitchburg State College and resides in Melrose, MA with his wife, who is also an accountant. He was recently married on August 19, 2017.

Ryan Rodrigue, CISA, CISSP - Information Technology (IT) Assurance Services
Ryan serves in Wolf’s IT Assurance Services Group, and has over 11 years of experience in IT risk management and governance, including risk assessments, business continuity planning, application security management, and information technology general controls.

Ryan has worked extensively in the Financial Services, Healthcare, and Technology industries. He assists his clients with implementation and assurance surrounding both regulatory requirements and industry security frameworks. Ryan performs security reviews pertaining to Microsoft networks, virtualization, cloud security, mainframe security, wireless networks, routers, firewalls, and vulnerability/penetration testing.

A graduate of Bentley University, Ryan resides in Wakefield, MA with his wife Cindy and twin boys Jack and Brady.  

Piro Sassa, CPA - Audit
Piro serves in Wolf’s Audit department and provides assurances services and accounting support to a variety of Wolf’s middle-market clients. Piro brings more than 10 years of audit, review and business advisory experience to privately-held, venture-backed and publicly-traded companies in various industries including pharmaceutical and life sciences companies and software developers. 

Piro has experience advising clients in complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition and equity instruments. He is a member of Wolf’s Technology Services Team, which provides guidance on accounting for complex debt, equity and revenue transactions to our technology clients. Piro resides in Framingham, MA with his wife Magda and his sons, Patrick and James.

Erica Torres, CRCM - Regulatory Compliance Services
Erica serves in the firm’s Regulatory Compliance Services Group.  She is responsible for developing and executing compliance reviews, training, and other compliance services for the firm’s financial institution clients. Erica has over 10 years of experience performing compliance services for Wolf & Company, analyzing and evaluating institutions’ compliance with federal and state regulations. 

Erica has experience in numerous areas including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act, Truth in Savings Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and other regulations.

Erica was instrumental in the development, implementation and upkeep of the various retail and operational compliance audit programs at Wolf. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, and lives in Dracut, MA with her husband Steve and their son, Logan. In her spare time, Erica enjoys reading crime and mystery novels, cheering on the Boston Bruins, and traveling with her family.
