Rita and Sean will be speaking on the topic of From Concept to Reality: How to Validate Security Models on Wednesday, April 26 at 2:30 PM.
Financial institutions routinely use models for a broad range of activities to inform and improve business decisions, save money, and reduce the risks that they may face. Institutions are relying on security models more now than ever before to help manage their environments. Relying on a security model that is not performing as intended could lead to unidentified threats, financial loss, or misinformation used for decision making. A model validation gives Institutions the assurance that their models can be relied upon.
This session provides the basics for understanding model validations including:
- What is a model?
- Why are model validations necessary?
- How do model validations work?
- We will apply these concepts by demonstrating how open-source tools can be used to successfully validate a security model.
