SafeSend Tax Return FAQs

Automated Tax Return Review and Delivery

In an effort to make our return delivery process easier, we have partnered with SafeSend™ Returns. This platform allows you to securely review your Federal and state income tax returns from the convenience of a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Please find answers to frequently asked questions below:

How do I get started?

  1. Once your returns are completed, you will receive an email from "Wolf & Company P.C." using the email address of noreply@safesendreturns.com

  2. Click on the secure link provided in the email to complete an identity verification process

  3. Once verified, you will be able to easily review and sign your tax returns

What if I don’t receive an email with my access code?

First—check your spam or junk folder for an email sent by noreply@safesendreturns.com . To prevent future communications from being filtered as spam, we recommend adding this email address to your contact list.

If you do not receive your code within the 20-minute time limit, simply request another.

Is it safe to enter part of my Social Security Number?

Before accessing your returns, you will be required to verify your identity by entering the last four digits of your social security number.

It is safe to enter part of your social security number. To verify that you are in a secure site, look for HTTPS:// at the beginning of the site URL and a locked padlock symbol in your browser's URL bar.

Where do the identify verification questions come from? What if I don’t remember the answers?

To authorize us to e-file your tax returns, you will be prompted to enter your date of birth and answer a series of personal questions based on records maintained with government and credit reporting agencies. You may be asked things like where you lived in a given year, or when you bought your car or home.

If you do not remember the answers to these questions, or answer them incorrectly, you will not be able to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s). You can instead print, manually sign and return your e-file authorization form(s) to Wolf & Company.

Does SafeSend Returns e-file my returns?

No—SafeSend Returns allows you to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s), but it will not electronically file your returns with taxing authorities. Once your e-file authorizations are signed, Wolf will be automatically notified, and will submit your returns for electronic filing.

My spouse and I are filing our return jointly. How can we both sign the e-file authorization form(s)?

There are several options available for joint filing taxpayers:

  1. If both spouses have an email address on file, both will receive an email with a link to view the return and sign the e-file authorization form(s). First, one spouse will receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s), and an email link will be sent to the second spouse. The second spouse will answer identity verification questions specific to him/her, then sign the form(s). Once the second spouse electronically signs the e-file authorization form(s), Wolf & Company will be notified that signing is complete.

  2. If only one spouse has an email address on file, that spouse will first receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s) and then enter an email address for the second spouse. The second spouse will then receive the email link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. Once the second spouse electronically signs the e-file authorization form(s), Wolf & Company will be notified that signing is complete.

  3. If a couple shares an email address, the primary signer will first receive a link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. After the primary signer signs the e-file authorization form(s), he/she can then enter the shared email address again. A new link will be sent with identity verification questions specific to the second spouse. Once the second spouse electronically signs the e-file authorization form(s), Wolf & Company will be notified that signing is complete.

  4. If a couple wishes to bypass the e-signature capabilities altogether, the first spouse to receive access to SafeSend may download, print, and manually sign the e-file authorization forms.

After signing my e-file authorization form(s), will I receive confirmation that it was successfully submitted?

Yes—once you sign your e-file authorization form(s), you will receive an email stating it was successful signed. Wolf & Company will also be notified that signing is complete.

I’d rather print and sign my e-file authorization form(s). Can I do that?

Yes—you can still print, sign and mail your e-file form(s) back to Wolf & Company if you would prefer to do so.

Will I have the option to print and download my return to retain for my records?

Yes—this is the first step in the SafeSend Returns process.

Can I set up reminders for my quarterly estimated payments?

If estimated payments are included in your tax return, you will automatically receive an email reminder seven days before your payment is due. If you wish to receive these notifications sooner you may change the default settings.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
