Meet Our New Principals
Ryan P. Brunell, CPA, MST – Tax
Ryan serves as a Principal in Wolf’s Tax Department where he provides personalized tax planning and compliance services to families, business owners, and executives. He is responsible for managing a team of professionals to ensure that clients receive the highest quality tax services customized to their individual needs.
Ryan resides in Medway, MA with his wife, Stacy, their son, Owen, and their dog, Crosby. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys making his toddler son laugh, and spending time on the Cape with his extended family.
Matthew P. Foley, CPA, MST – Tax
Matt serves as a Principal in Wolf’s Tax Department where he provides tax planning, provision, and compliance services to corporations and partnerships. He is also responsible for managing a team of professionals to ensure that all tax services are tailored to the individual needs of his clients.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 11 years of experience in providing tax consulting and compliance services to corporations and partnerships, with a focus in the manufacturing and distribution, technology, and life sciences industries. Prior to joining Wolf, Matt was a Senior Manager in the international tax group of a Big 4 accounting firm.
Matt resides in Natick, MA with his wife, Ashley and their son, Ford. When he is not doing taxes, Matt enjoys playing basketball and spending time at the park with his family.
Michael E. Kanarellis, HITRUST CCSFP – Information Technology (IT) Assurance Services
Michael is a Principal in Wolf’s Information Technology (IT) Assurance Services group, and oversees the Firm’s HITRUST, PCI-DSS, and penetration testing services lines. He leads Wolf’s Healthcare IT Audit and Security Practice, where he manages a dedicated team of healthcare security professionals that help providers, health insurers, and large physician practices—as well as health tech, bio-pharma, medical device, and life science organizations—meet their HIPAA security and privacy requirements, and improve their overall security posture.
Michael has been involved in the managing of projects which include HIPAA Security and Privacy risk analysis, risk assessments, HITRUST certified audits, PCI-DSS audits, Office of Civil Rights (OCR) corrective action plan audits, application security, NIST CSF, CIS Critical Security Controls, ISO 27001, SOC 1 and 2 audits, IT general controls, IT governance, DR/BCP, Incident Response, penetrating testing, and various custom security reviews.
Meredith F. Piotti, CPA, CIA – Internal Audit
Meredith serves as a Principal for the Firm’s Internal Audit Services Group. She is responsible for delivering internal audit services to financial institutions including bank holding companies, commercial banks, cooperative banks, credit unions, and community savings banks.
Meredith has over 10 years of experience providing internal audit, consulting, and risk management services to financial institutions at Wolf & Company.
Meredith’s friends, family, and colleagues refer to her as Merry. Merry resides in Bellingham, MA with her husband, Evan, and two children, Reagan and Cecilia. When she is not auditing, Merry enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, running, and solving puzzles.
Matthew C. Vaughn, CPA – Audit
Matt is a Principal in Wolf’s Audit Department and is responsible for delivering external audit services to clients. His primary responsibilities include monitoring the audit team to see jobs through to completion, and ensuring clients receive customized and efficient services tailored to fit their individual needs, while maintaining Wolf’s high quality of service.
Matt’s experience includes planning and performing audit work and analyzing financial statements for companies throughout New England, including those with global operations. He has 12 years of experience providing audit, review, and compilation services to clients in various industries including manufacturing and distribution, family businesses, investment advisors (including broker dealers), and pension plans.
Matt lives in the Seaport of Boston, MA with his wife, Brittani, and three-year old yellow lab, Tucker. He enjoys competing in regional golf tournaments, playing on the Wolf softball and basketball teams, hiking with Brittani and Tucker, and spending time outdoors with his family in New Hampshire.
